Distribute Aid Team
We’re a small, diverse, and international team. Our team members are highly-skilled volunteers and experienced community organisers serving their local communities. They actively choose to spend several hours a week putting their skillset to good use to help Distribute Aid to deliver more aid for less money and create impact far greater than our organisation’s size would imply.

SARA LÖNEGÅRD
Sara founded Distribute Aid, a grassroots-to-grassroots humanitarian aid delivery nonprofit, immediately after getting her degree in International Relations and Politics. The organisation’s aim is to reduce the waste of donated supplies and the carbon emissions needed to deliver them, while also increasing the ability of local organisers to provide long-term care for their own communities. This increases the autonomy of aid recipients and minimises the risk of affected populations becoming reliant on international institutions. Distribute Aid supports around 200 grassroots organisations, and has delivered nearly $50 million USD in aid to date.
Sara also co-founded the Refugees Care project, which enabled women living in Greece’s largest refugee camp to make reusable cloth masks for themselves and their community to protect them from COVID-19. Previously she worked as a consultant for Save the Children UK and held roles with Scholars at Risk and the Middle East Policy Council in Washington DC. She has appeared as a guest speaker at universities such as Oxford, Duke, and Lund to share her experience as an entrepreneur and innovator in the humanitarian field.
Sara has an MA in International Relations and an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics. In 2025 and 2026, she was named one of Sweden's “Female Leaders of the Future”. In 2020, she was awarded the United Nations prize for “Most Direct Human Impact”, recognising the real-world impact of the ICT solution that Distribute Aid is building.

TAYLOR FAIRBANK
Taylor Fairbank is an open-source software maintainer and humanitarian aid worker. He believes that solidarity economies provide a sustainable pathway to an equitable future, and is working to create virtual and physical connections between them.
Taylor co-founded Distribute Aid, and currently leads the org's US expansion and tech initiatives in his role as Director of Development. He studied computer science at the University of Illinois and Lund University, before founding an operational tech startup that was accepted into the prestigious Y Combinator startup accelerator program. When he’s not coding or responding to yet-another-crisis, you’ll find Taylor on a road trip, cooking dinner for friends, or helping out at the local punk show.

NICOLE TINGLE
After completing her masters degree in Conflict, Development, and Security, from the University of Leeds, Nicole spent five years working abroad with a range of non-profits, focused largely on refugees and displaced populations.
Through this experience she honed her operations and project management skills, allowing her to support Distribute Aid through a period of strong growth. Through varying leadership roles, she helped to produce policy and process, grow the team, and set Distribute Aid up for success. She has since moved to a board position upon relocating back to the UK. She is now the Head of Strategic Operations at Infiniti Recycling, an environmental start-up focused on recycling ion-lithium batteries.
