Distribute Aid was founded in May 2018 by Sara Lönegård and Taylor Fairbank. Since then many people have pitched in to help, including newcomers, aid workers, and people previously uninvolved with the refugee aid movement. We are so thankful for the contributions of the wonderful people listed on this page, and the many more of you who have assisted us in other ways.

Sara is an aspiring human rights activist with an MA in International Relations, and work experience in issues relating to integration, women’s rights, Middle East policy, and the right to academic freedom. I was the recipient of the Politics Prize from the University of Dundee in 2018, and am now the proud co-founder of Distribute Aid. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Originally from Springfield, Missouri, I am currently pursuing an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy at the University of Oxford as a 2017 Marshall Scholar. I'm passionate about understanding and combating homelessness & poverty, which led me to publish a book that shares the life stories of homeless teens. I will return to the U.S. to begin Harvard Law School in 2019. I would eventually like to help shape international law and policy and increase global collaboration in creating sustainable poverty solutions..

I like building ethical technology and operational planning, which is what I'm lucky enough to do every day at Distribute Aid. I've previously founded a startup and attended the prestigious Y Combinator startup accelerator in Silicon Valley. Give me a shout if you need to get in touch about technology at Distribute Aid: email@example.com.
I'm a product manager working in cybersecurity and occasionally a writer for a hip-hop magazine. As the child of immigrant parents, I want to give back and help refugees and migrants by working on DistributeAid's roadmap and helping to steer product direction. Please feel free to contact me with any feedback or product suggestions for the DistributeAid platform!
I am a first-year student studying Computer Science at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. I call Myanmar home and have lived in both Yangon and Mandalay. I am a technology enthusiast and am particularly passionate about open-source software.
A bit about myself - I love playing hockey, scuba diving, and reading. After high school I didn't go to university, electing to travel and work instead. It was then that I met my first refugees in the middle east. I came back from traveling and decided to go into tech. I heard about Distribute Aid on facebook! Taylor posted on our university's computer science group. I was looking for somewhere I could add value to a good cause, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity - something I had seen effect those around me, in an area where I could also add value.
Tim works full-time as lead web designer for a digital advertising company called Triplelift. He's rebranding their entire digital presence and redeveloping their current website and digital applications. Tim's glad to be on board as he is excited to apply his skills in both digital and graphic design to help make Distribute Aid’s online tools user-friendly and their message clear through both web applications and printed materials, as their team’s Graphic / UI/UX Designer.
I am a student at Duke University, originally from Ireland, but now based in Maine in the US. I am working with Distribute Aid on their software side because I enjoy working with computer science and am fascinated by the scope of what can be done from computers connecting from hundreds of miles apart. I want to do what I can to help refugees and migrants around the world, and I think working with Distribute Aid is the perfect way to do that.

Rita likes learning new things and connecting with people, especially over a good book. She is an avid traveler who has a big heart and lots of bubble tea in my system. She previously worked at Ontario Digital Services as an Interaction Designer but check out her website to see the other cool things she has done.
Rachael is currently a rising senior headed to UMASS Amherst. She loves coding, singing classical music and finding new leadership opportunities in her community. Her goal is to major in computer science and possibly in engineering. Her hope is to inspire more girls into the STEM field.
